July 2009

Mike and I are trying to be better stewards of our dollars these days. So, in trying to keep it a little more enjoyable we have started a competition of who can get the most bang for our bucks. So far Mike leads on all accounts. But I am in the game and giving it a good effort. It has been surprisingly fun and rewarding. I came across a great resource recently that’s called “pocket your dollars.” I am sure there are others out there so if you have a favorite let me know.

Surely there are Mother’s who have gone before me and pondered what to do with the lack of modesty that summertime brings. Greta and Caleb just finished swimcamp and have been eagar to get out swimming. So being that we are member’s, we have set out a few times to the pool. I have made an effort to try and get there as soon as the doors open at 10am in hopes to get ahead of the crowd. My main concern not being the crowdedness really but rather avoiding the raciness of it all. I think to myself, maybe if we just get there early we will encounter fewer breasts and save ourselves from being overexposed as the crowd grows. I know it’s putting it bluntly but I leave thinking I have seen way too many breasts spilling out of swimsuits today-ugh! I just want to go up to some of these ladies and say, will you please cover those up, I have 2 boys, not to mention a daughter and myself who don’t want to look at that.

And so we press on in our teaching and training of modesty and purity. I am also reminded to pray for my husband and the warfare that he is up against during the summer month’s when women wear next to nothing.
